The images are quite arresting - the look in the soldiers' eyes is like disbelief or he is not really sure what the rest of the war will entail. You can just imagine what it would have been like adding the rain, rats and the incessant sound of shells and of course death. Not sure about the quotation on the presentation about war - what do others think?
